Congratulations to Dr. Kaiyuan Zheng on receiving the 2026 Excellence in Post-Doctoral Research Award from the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Genetics (BMG) at the University of Virginia School of Medicine!

The award was announced on October 15, 2026, during the BMG Annual Retreat, where Kaiyuan was recognized as one of two recipients this year.

Kaiyuan has made outstanding contributions to our research on mitochondrial stress signaling, structural biology, and protein design, while also playing an important role in mentoring and training other members of the Yang Lab.
